Going all the way up Prospect MT

A few months ago, I had the opportunity to travel all the way up Prospect Mountain in Lake George, NY. There are two ways to get all the way up to the top - you can either hike up, or you can park and take the free shuttle up there. The view from the top is pretty incredible and you can even see some ruins of the Old Cable Railway.

Shooting in the First Snowfall

Yesterday Emily and I decided to venture outside into the cold and shoot portraits in the results of the first snowfall of the season. I styled her in a red sweater, dark jeans, and a pair of winter boots. I also had her add a soft wave to her hair. This shoot was also the first time that I used my new tripod, which I will do a full review on after I have used it a few more times.

I think these shots are absolutely gorgeous and will definitely do more winter portraits in the future!

Trolley Museum Shoot

Recently, I had the opportunity to shoot photographs at the CT Trolley Museum. Some of the photographs were shot on the actual trolley, while some were shot on the grounds. I wanted the photographs that were on the trolley to give off a darker vibe and I think I did a pretty good job with that. Shooting on the trolley itself was definitely an interesting experience to say the least. I had some trouble getting my camera to focus because it was dark on the trolley, and people were going on and off of it - thus causing it to shake a bit while shooting. In some of the photographs, you can see the blur, but looking at them now I feel as if that adds to the aesthetic of the photographs.

If I were to do a shoot like this again, I would probably bring a tripod along to help stabilize the shots that were done on the trolley. I would also try to go at a time when it wouldn't be so busy in order to reduce the amount of people that kept making the trolley shake.

Fall Leaves

The leaves recently started really falling around here, so I decided to go out and shoot a photo series on them! The ones I shot were primarily shades of greens, browns, and oranges/red. It had just recently rained the day I shot these as well, so I got a few raindrops on leaves shots!

You can see the rainy look in all of these shots, which I feel kind of adds to the fall aesthetic. In some of these images, I also blacked out the background so that the sole focus would be on the leaves.
